catch a flame

This is a little handmade ceramic tealight holder. I have two of them. They are both different in shape. They are both lopsided and quite quirky in shape. I like that about them. I don't like the fact that my drawing is lopsided though. Bugger.

aaaw andrea, another great drawing! I know what you mean about trying to get the drawings perfect as opposed to objects that might not be as perfect ...I'm trying really hard to lose my need to control everything and have it 'perfect' ... but your drawings are brilliant no matter what you do!

You are such a master of shading. Still the ballpoint pen? What brand do you use? I feel a need to make an art store purchase you make your art look so effortless. Great subject with all those holes.

Goodness, another beautiful one indeed. Sometimes when i look at your drawings i wonder how i would have done it. I usually end up with "forget it -- i can't!". And Mariana is spot on: accepting to draw something wonky, is like giving up control and surrendering to the pen... trusting the flow. Just trusting.
